This sketchbook series is my favourite. I love the black and white shapes and playing with the negative space to create form.
Look! A whole group of male characters! I love male characters too, but I am always drawn to portraying female ones. Female stories are what live in me and that want to be presented to the world.
I'm all about the boss babes. Fantastic female leaders. Notice the Disney owned characters in this one (I just wanted to explore the duality and similarity between the soft heroine and the sharp villain).
I love this page, it's full of attitude, shapes, stories, expressions and angles.
I've been speeding up my drawing process lately, working on rough sketches but giving them a pass that would work as finished but still leaving that rough quality. This sketch series is about capturing a character, story or feeling with enough speed and focus on details that I end up liking the result instead of deleting it and starting again. It has worked so far.
